In the Beginning:
The Madison Future: Young Professionals Network was created in 2009 by the vision of David Collier (then Executive Director of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce). David and the Chamber recruited Corey Murphy, Stephen Delorenzo, Jenny Eggenspiller, Casey Goode, Trevor Crafton, Steve Rizzo to spearhead the project. The concept was to set the foundation for a new young professionals association that could inspire our younger generation that was transitioning from High School or College to the community and workforce and build a new base of leadership for Madison and Jefferson County. Civic Involvement, Professional Development, Social and Professional Involvement would be the missions for this group. By inspiring our younger generation from within we build a strong foundation for future growth in the community. They also wanted to make the current generation to see that when it comes time to hand over the reigns that things will be will in hand.
Currently:
The MFYP is in it’s 3rd year and doing well. We have regular members attending meetings and volunteering in many projects around the Madison area. The 5 under 40 Award was started in 2010 to honor those younger individuals who do so much in our community and still find time to take care of their families. We also started the Jefferson County Community Volunteer Fair in Sept 2011 to offer the many and varied volunteer groups in Jefferson County a showcase of their needs and missions. We have offer many smaller professional development seminars throughout the year. Stay tuned for our future community efforts!
