A discussion was held regarding the posting of the notes from previous meetings. It was decided to post the notes on Facebook until the website for MFYP is launched. A status update of the website will be provided at the next meeting.
A discussion was held regarding the “Santa Express,” train ride coming to Madison. The civic involvement event is on Saturday, December 5th with the departures times of: 9am; 9:45am; 10:30am; 11:15am; 12:00pm; 12:45pm; 1:30pm. Five booths will be set up inside VOBC. They will include a snack booth, photo booth and three activity booths. It should conclude by 2:00pm. Additional volunteers are still needed to work various booths. Please contact the Chamber or any council member to volunteer.
A professional development event is scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2009. The event which will be a luncheon from Noon to 1:00pm at the VOBC will feature Peter Woodburn. He will be talking about Business Etiquette and the introduction/shaking hands part of business etiquette. The cost for YP members will be $10 and non-members will be $15. A flyer will be distributed. If anyone is interested in attending please contact the Chamber at 265-3135 or RSVP on the MFYP Facebook Events page.
A member suggested another event could be a CPR / First Aid course. How many YP’s would know what to do an in emergency situation? Additional discussion will follow at a future meeting.
A discussion was also held regarding the development of a MFYP membership card. It would act similar to the “Cub” card at local business’s that would choose to participate. Additional discussion will follow at the next meeting.
The membership suggested the development of a banner / signage to identify MFYP at meetings or events located in public settings. Additional discussion will follow at the next meeting.
The next “Thirsty Thursday” will be held on December 17th. A membership meeting will begin at 5:00pm with networking 6:00pm. The location will be announced.
